New Job Movies or Series

Fall is all about changes and it seems like it's the perfect time to get a new job too. A friend of mine flew to New York last week to get a training for her new job after eight (8!!) interviews! But, she went to NYC, how cool! With all the excitement of a new job, the first day scaries are lurking too! Here are a few of my favorite new job movies or series.

The Devil Wears Prada (2006) Poster

The Devil Wears Prada: This must be the ultimate new job movie and the award for most awkward interview: "No no, that wasn't a question!"

Beauty & the Briefcase (2010) Poster
T
Beauty & the Briefcase: This is a cute movie about a magazine writer who goes undercover at a finance firm. Wish interviews were that easy!

Suits (2011) Poster

Suits: I like to watch Suits because of the story lines and characters, but those outfits! Love the dresses and pencil skirts the female characters are wearing.

Confessions of a Shopaholic (2009) Poster

Confessions of a Shopaholic: Love the part when her manager asks her to write her something and then she googles it, he turns around and says: "Did you just type 'good angles on APRs' into Google?"

Office Space (1999) Poster

Office Space: Anyone who doesn't get the red stapler joke should see this movie!

Nine to Five (1980) Poster

Nine to Five: Must see classic!

Working Girl (1988) Poster

Working Girl: Another must see classic if you're (about to) work in an office!

Brown Leather Skirt And Green Sweater

This weather calls for cozy sweaters and scarfs! I already had this leather skirt (last worn here), from the summer collection of Zara, but it is a perfect color for fall. Combined with a green sweater and an over sized scarf, both Zara,

Thankful

A few days ago I saw this picture above on the @thinkgrowprosper instagram account. And because it's Thanksgiving Day tomorrow (even though we don't celebrate), I thought I'd share the things I'm thankful for now.

Thinking back to the six years that I've been living here and how far I've come and grown personally, financially, physically, career and academic wise.

Sometimes it's not about thinking of all the things you still want to have, bu how far you've come from where you started and how much you have now.

James Bond Themed Cocktail Hour

Since we saw 'Spectre' in the movie theater recently, we're hooked on 007 again. So before we went out for dinner on Friday night (and a party after), I thought to make after-work-cocktails. A vodka martini of course. Shaken, not stirred. Not sure if the olives belong in there, but I like martini and sometimes dirty!

The simple ingredients.

A complimenting bites for this aperitivo.

Cheers!

How To Wear Sweaters To The Office (And Still Look Chic)

http://www.dashinglyelevating.com/2015/09/brown-off-shoulder-sweater.html

Colder days are upon us and that makes me want to wear chunky sweaters to the office again. When it's extreemly windy (like these days!), it's raining or even snowing, the thought of wearing dresses, blouses with blazers or cardigans are not very apealing. Especially when the AC is turned on!

Here I summed of some of my outfits that I have posted oved the years that proof that you can wear sweaters to the office and still look chic!

Bring-To-Work Lunch Ideas

For the past week I was thinking of how to vamp up my work lunches as the dull sandwich or steamed veggies and chicken may get a little boring from time to time.
Here I rounded up my favorite bring-to-work lunch ideas which are both easy to prep (the night before), but above all, very tasty as well!

Make sure to check out my healthy lunch wrap recipe as well!

A Two-Sides Kind Of Weekend

Picture 'Peace for Paris' that was spread over Instagram by @Jean_Jullien

Before I went to bed Friday evening, I saw the news on what was happening in Paris. Shocked and tremendously saddened by what I was reading. And again in Paris too.
The next day I put on the news and saw the horrifying images and eyewitnesses and talked about it with my friends. I'm very heartbroken but this image above by Jean Jullien and other pictures of Paris that were posted on Instagram and Facebook were heartwarming.

"Happy Friday! It's a good one! :)" Is my capture under this picture of Instagram.

Friday started off so nice. It was a sunny day and I spent my Friday differently then normal. I went shopping and had my first red cup coffee from Starbucks. Weird to look back at this picture and the capture too...

On Sunday night I had dinner with my friend Mandy to celebrate something and to catch up on on everything since we last saw each other around a week ago. ;-)

This was really a two-sides kind of weekend with tears but luckily lots of laughter too.
I hope you'll enjoy your new week and as in the words of Ellen DeGeneres:

"Be kind to one another"

Hiking In The Woods Outfit

Hiking in the woods of Rotterdam. Possibly one of my favorite things to do in fall. Wearing a big oversized chunky sweater, Timberland booties and a Burberry scarf.
Coat was optional because of the nice weather!

Love this picture. It shows how happy I am during this time of year. Pure joy.

Hearty Fall Foods And Desserts

Since November has started I see delicious foods and recipes floating all over instagram and my favorite blogs because of course, turkey season is here. It's almost Thanksgiving! Although Thanksgiving is just a holiday for the people in the USA, I wish we would celebrate the holiday, or the thought behind it, here in the Netherlands (or Europe for that matter) too.

The recipes look so good that I thought I would round up my favorites here on my blog and of course: #pumpkineverything.

A Very Fall Weekend

Woods of Rotterdam.

This weekend was jam packed with so many nice things and people! On Friday was an after work drinks reunion with my old colleagues from the time I worked at the bank. It was very nice to see everyone again and to do some major catching up!

On Saturday we had Dutch pancakes for lunch out and went for a beautiful hike in the woods afterwards. It was such a lovely day, a jacket wasn't even needed. I'm truly in love with all the colors fall has to offer and the woods of Rotterdam was the perfect place that captured that.

Typical Dutch pancakes, with bacon & raisins.

Beautiful orange leaves at the woods of Rotterdam.

On Saturday evening we went to see the new James Bond movie Spectre. Absolutely loved it! Go see it now!
