Best Study Tips Found On Pinterest

Ryan:

As many of you, I search internet for study tips. Reasons for that because it's my second year in university and that I study online so I don't have physical peers around. Sure, my fellow online students and I share tips on how we study and we even have a Skype study group. But I'm always open for new tips on how to study differently so that I can remember more. Through my blog, I  wrote my experience and tips of (online) college studying, which I will continue to do through my second year of studying BBA!

Here I round up my favorite study tips I found on Pinterest:

Favorite Songs of September

I though to create new series where I write down my favorite and songs I listened most to this month. So without further ado, here are my favorite songs of September:

This song is not on the album 'Breathe In, Breathe Out', but was a exclusive download if you bought the fan package - which I didn't -. So unfortunately I can only listen to the song online.
This song makes me feel like a badass who can concur the world. PS: Happy Birthday Hilary!

I don't wanna behave
Don’t wanna wait for Saturday
It’s been a shitty day
And mercury's in retrograde

Cause I'm sick of doing what they tell me
Sick and tired of trying to please
I'm escaping, breaking free
With a pocket full of cash
My dice is swinging on the dash

 I feel like an outlaw
I'm on the run in my red lace bra
No one’s gonna bring me down
Nobody’s gonna bring me down
I feel like an outlaw
And me mugging in my getaway car
Pretending like I run this town
Nobody's gonna bring me down

"Secrets" - The Pierces

This month I've finished watching 'Pretty Little Liars' and I finally know who 'A' is! Although, the five years fast forward shows the girls aren't done yet. I wonder if the show continues with five years from now?

Got a secret
Can you keep it?
Swear this one you'll save
Better lock it in your pocket
Taking this one to the grave
If I show you then I know you won't tell what I said
Cause two can keep a secret if one of them is dead

Since I saw him live last month, I think I love him even more! Besides the song, Gigi Hadid is gorgeous in this video. Did you know she is half Dutch? Goes to show... ;-)

Brown Leather Scalloped Skirt & Beige Sweater

This is a scalloped suede skirt from Zara which I paired with a beige scarf-neck sweater from H&M and nude pumps from Dune. Cute office outfit which fits perfectly with this transitioning weather into fall.

I love leather skirts. And I things it's totally worth paying more money for the real deal. I never buy fake leather. Not for clothing, bags or shoes.

Yay It's Fall!

hannahmargaretillustrations: Few of my favorite aspects of fall! Watercolor:

Happy fall y'all!*

Today officially marks the first day of fall, which happens to be my favourite season. While I'm typing this, Pretty Little Liars is on the background (Thanksgiving episode), it's dark and rainy outside and I'm sipping on chai tea. What's not to like?

I love hiking on Sunday and last weekend we went hiking and I wore a mohair cardigan and that was just enough. Fall colors were coming through on the trees in the park and the sun was shining on my face. Can't wait to see turn everything yellow, orange and red.

This picture above perfectly shows what fall is, and what I love about it:

Pumpkin Spice Lattes
Candles
Books
Knitted everything
Boots
Scarfs
Cozy sweaters
Rain storms (only fun when you're inside!)

*Sorry, I had to... ;-)

An Afternoon Of Golf

The other day while my friend Mandy and I were having coffee somewhere, we ran into a business relation of mine. I told him that he already knew Mandy from playing golf last year where I was invited to and I brought her along. That reminded M that she still had the free pass that they gave us! So that's why the two of us went golfing that Friday and drank wine on our breaks. It's actually quite the workout! Because we both used to play field hockey, we knew how to hit! ;-) Loved doing this on a whim and I would definitely do it again sometime and it would be nice to go with your boyfriend or date.

Brown Off The Shoulder Sweater

I'm really loving the off the shoulder trend at the moment. Next to this Zara sweater, I also have a gray long sleeve off the shoulder dress. I almost want to buy everything which has bare shoulders, but I also realize it's not always appropriate for every occasion.

But this sweater is cozy and sleek enough to wear in the office for colder days.

Levi jeans and Buffalo pumps.

Food & Exercise Lately

New pic we shot last Saturday.

Since two weeks I joined a new gym and I'm really enjoying myself! There're all different sort of training options, way way more than at my previous hotel gym. You get motivated to do another exercise or try a different machine just by being there. I noticed difference on my stomach already and my legs are so sore! I started a new gym routine a week ago and it's brutal! ;-)

If you're following my MissWDavidson instagram account, you might see I ate a lot of cakes lately. Or so it may seem. But most of my more 'healthy' meals aren't always documented. It takes a lot of exercise and clean eating to keep staying fit while eating cakes.

From today on I'll start to eat clean again and continue my new gym plan routine. I'm planning on to update my MissWD_Fit instagram more account so that you can follow my healthy journey. While I eat cakes from time to time, it doesn't mean I don't eat healthy at other days. I like to look at it 80/20. 80 percent of the time I eat clean and 20 % of the time, not so much. ;-) That comes down to eating healthier during the week, for 5 days.

This said, I'm ready to up do my regime a little bit and I'll start to watch my sugar intake from now on. This doesn't mean I won't eat bad foods anymore, just once a week as a so called 'cheat meal' instead of a full weekend.

Part of a healthy lifestyle (remember, it's not a diet!) comes relaxing too. My legs were so sore this week and noticed my back was aching more too. Thank g-d for back massages! So last Sunday, after high tea with Mandy, I took a hot bath to relax completely.

Black Bell Bottoms and Nude Shirt

When I saw this bell bottom pants in Zara I thought that it was so classy and perfect for work. I have nothing like this in my closet and think it's a bit bold too, but actually you can't do wrong with a black pant that touches the ground. Shirt from Vanilia and wearing the pearls inherited by my grandmother. Pumps by Buffalo.

Waiting For The Rain

"Waiting for you is like waiting for rain in this drought useless and disappointing."

~ Sam (Hilary Duff), A Cinderella Story

The pictured quote is a little reminder for me that I needed in the last few days. I felt like I was working hard, but without any results in sight.

The second quote comes from one of my favorite teenage movies 'A Cinderella Story'. After Sam says it to Austin, they kiss and then it finally starts to rain which puts a stop to the drought in their city.

This quote came to mind when I read the former one. When you want something, you have to work hard for it. But it also means patience, as it might not be the time for you yet. A friend told me this yesterday and it was really hard to hear, because it wasn't something I wanted to hear at the time.

When things don't come to you right away, even when you work hard for it, it doesn't mean you should give up on it. It means all the hard work will be paid off in the end, even when it comes a bit later. ;-)

This, plus I started studying for my second year of BBA today. Feels good to be studying again and working on my bigger goal; getting the degree!

Remember:

Hard work pays off!

Guilty Pleasure Movies

These movies are my version of comfort food. The list of feel better, nothing on TV, I can talk with every line movies.

While I was writing the list over the course of a few days, It just got longer and longer. And maybe it's not even finished yet and another movie pops into my head, but here it goes. My (un)shaming list of guilty pleasure movies:

I first saw this movie in theaters and fell in love. Julianne Hough is adorable and the movie is thrilling, romantic and has a major surprise at the end.

This movie made it to my ultimate "Best Back To School Movies" and is one of my faves since high school.

The characters, all the famous actors the story lines getting together, Bradley Cooper with Scarlett Johansson, the irritation you feel when the girl answers the phone under the shower, Bradley & Scarlett... This is the movie a girlfriend and I put on when there's nothing better to see and we can actually along with most lines. LOVE this movie.

This one might not be so well known, but it's absolutely one of my favorites and the main part of that is the music. I grew up with this movie and with the music of Michael Nyman. I've heard the music 100x more than I've seen the movie, but they compliment each other. Chances are, that you do know some of the music, if you haven't seen the movie. Please go see it!

Classic, not much explaining to do here! I remember I saw the movie with my mom and brother in the theaters and when we came out, I told my mom it was my favorite movie ever!

Another movie I know many lines to. Love that during the movie he accidentally invents everything (even the smiley!) and one of the most known movie quotes ever: "Live is like a box of chocolate, you never know what you gonna get." With the accent of course!

Not only is Tom Hanks one of my favorite actors (see above) but this movie is just so easy to see and just doesn't seem to get tiring of ever! "F-O-X!"

I wrote that it was a guilty pleasure list right? A true chick-flick movie about a girl that turns from a loser into a pretty princes. Ok ok, sounds horrible, but can't get enough yet. ;-)

Must see movie every year around Christmas time. Everything is just 'right' in this movie. Doesn't it make you want to go to England to live in one of those cottages?! Ok, maybe just for one weekend, or two, if it's with Jude Law!

Besides that it's my favorite Christmas movie, it's one of my all time favorites as well. Love all the storylines and how they fall together. And the "All You Need Is Love" serenade, who doesn't want that on their wedding?

An oldie, but a goodie. Love the 'Girl Power' message this movie sends. Favorite part? That the four women sing "You Don't Own Me" at the end of the movie. Thanks to mom for introducing me to this movie many years ago.

Besides the heartwarming storyline, the accents of Gerard Butler and Harry Connick Jr. play a major part of me loving this movie. :) Another piece I like of this movie? That they play "Fairytale of New York" just one of my favorite Christmas songs!

A Calvin Harris & Belfast Weekend

Last weekend we traveled to Belfast, North Ireland, to see Calvin Harris! Couldn't believe the weekend was already there, as it kind of marked the end of summer. It was nice to have a little trip to look forward to after our holiday to Java & Bali.

We arrived on Saturday morning and went for a little shopping. I found this lingerie store Bravissimo on internet which I had to visit. The women there where so nice and helped me find my perfect fit. So happy with my purchase!

We stopped for some sweet treats. Scones and carrot cake. So so good!

Before Calvin Harris started, we saw Ellie Goulding's show. She is very entertaining to watch and loved to sing along!
I drank the typical Irish cider.

How beautiful is the view from here?

And finally Calvin Harris was up! He gave such a great show! I was dancing and singing along like crazy! He even played some of his older songs, one of my faves "We Found Love".

Really cool lightning and fireworks. It was so nice to see him in real life!

And on his instagram account the next day. 40.000 visitors! Wow!

Sunday morning we had a typical Irish breakfast which is called "Ulster Fry". Weird to eat white beans in tomato sauce first thing in the morning, but I actually ate it all. Plus a side of pancakes to flush it all away. ;-)

Sunday we went to the Titanic museum. She lay here between the poles. It was a huge museum with some nice features. The whole city breathes Titanic because back then, so many men helped her built. Very nice to see and read the stories, from beginning to end and beyond.

Belfast has some Dutch roots as well! ;-)

Late afternoon it was time to fly home. Weekend traveling at its best!

Hello September

Bring on the cooler weather and chunkier sweaters.: Bring on the cooler weather and chunkier sweaters.

New month, new beginnings...

September always feels like a fresh start to me, because it's almost the end of the summer and the beginning of fall. Even though I love summer, fall is my all-time favorite. August in the Netherlands was an up and down summer/fall mash up. A few hot days, turned into endless rainfalls and even thunder evenings...

Besides the weather changing, so is my closet. ;-) Although it's still too warm to wear, I bought some clothes from the new collections in stores. I absolutely love fall and winter fashion, hence, I don't mind the changing weather.

That being sad, I have a good vibe feeling of September. August was ever changing to me and I think September will too. But not the bad kind of change. But the exciting, butterfly in stomach feeling change.

And I started at a new gym! At least that's a little change that brings joy to my life, because I love to workout! I finally go to a gym that has those ropes for your arms, can't wait to use it.

This all doesn't mean that I secretly hope for a few late summer warm days which I can spend outside!

Happy September!
