An Unexpected Study Break

On Wednesday at the end of the day I texted my bf that I was just so tired in my head. Not the kind of tired that comes from lack of sleep, but from too much stuff (read: studying) on my mind.

My bf ca,e up with the idea to get me out of my house and suggested to take me out for dinner and go to the beach. And even though that sounded like a great idea, the ride there was too long.

Soo, we decided to go out for sushi!! We ate, talked and laughed a lot and that's really what I needed. Our bellies were full and since the place is in the city center, we could walk home and got some fresh air as well.

Perfect unexpected study break on a week day!

Making Things Happen

I love this quote. It means that, if things don't go the way you want it, make sure it does anyway. Create your own path.

No matter if it means for your study, work, a bikini body or your life goals. This quote can be implemented in day to day basis. Work hard and things can go your way. If you just put your mind to it.

My own experience is to plan something way ahead. And think about it carefully. Never do something before you gave every thought. This may be signs of a worrior, but believe me, this prevents any regret after.

You're the boss of your own life, with all the strings attached to it. If you want something to happen, guess what, 99% of the time you're on your own. Taking an exam? You. Job interview? You. Hot bod? You.

And if the outcome of one of these plans or goals didn't go the way you liked, make a new plan or set a new plan. It's your life, make things happen.

Now go and get it! ;-)

Asking For Help

Exams are just around the corner! Only one more week of work and then I have a whole week off to study before my exams start on May 5th through May 12(!!)!

Almost all my free time goes to studying, a little blogging, abs workouts (I go to the gym on my lunch break) chores, and of course, my bf. All other social engagements I've set aside (I miss my girls!), but it's for a good cause!

With that being said, every other thing that comes on my path seems super threating. Only just today I finished my tax returns (on time) and asked for a new public transport card (1 month overdue). Which means, I could use some help...

And even though I'm bad at it, asking for help can be really good from time to time, and so much time saving too. Also, another task less, means more room in my head for studying too!

Just to show how independent I am: or weeks (read months) I was irritated by my living room door that was stuck. So a week ago I took a good look at the door, grabbed my tool box (yes I have a tool box and no, it's not pink) and fixed the door myself! It was so easy, wish I would have taken the time before a long time ago. So, rather a little procrastination than to ask for help... ;-)

But slowly I have mastered the scary word of 'help'. And my 'victim' is the person who absolutely loves doing it: my boyfriend. Just small things like: booking a table for a restaurant, doing the dishes (without asking!) while I'm in the bathroom or picking up things from the grocery store.

I'm one lucky girl!

Ok, now back to studying Accounting...

Recipe: Healthy Lunch Wrap

I love to eat clean and most of the time I always make my own lunch and bring to work. Lunch should be filling, nutritious, high in protein (after workout fuel!) and easy to make. So I thought I'd share one of my new lunch ideas: a healthy wrap! I got my bf hooked, he makes it himself now as well. Hope you'd like it too!

Ingredients: whole wheat wrap, egg, turkey& chive spread. And for veggies: baby gem lettuce, peppers and corn.

Put the spread on the wrap first, then the lettuce, turkey and on top the veggies and egg.
Plus pepper to taste!

And wrap everything in tin foil. :) Easy!

Read: She's In! Hillary Clinton For President!

RTR4CJCK

I'm so excited, Hillary Rodham Clinton officially launched her 2016 Presidential campaign yesterday! I was secretly hoping this for the past few months. Even though I live in the Netherlands, I'll root for her!

I've written about her a couple of times before on my blog, you can find it here, here and here.

Gray Skirt & Black Tee

Haven't posted an outfit post for such a long time! This dark gray skirt with ruffles on the back is from Cos and shoes from Buffalo.

This was the first nice day in Rotterdam, so bare legs were in order! Not minding that they're so white at all. ;-)

Study Tip: Make A Monthly Calendar

This is my last month before my exams start in May. The fifth of May is my first exam to be exact. Probably for most students May is the exam month. Which means: revision revision revision! My golden tip is to make a monthly calendar to write down on which day you'll study for that exam.

My schedule for April:

The last week I have the week off and I will study two courses a day. Not combining two beta and gamma courses at one day.

Business Study Skills and Business Statistics will fall in the last week so I'll study those courses then.

The weeks are crawling by and I'm getting so nervous already!
Good luck with studying, find more tips here!

A Long Easter Weekend

I haven't written a blog post in the last few days because I've been relaxing a lot this weekend. I had Friday through Monday off.

Friday morning I went to the gym and in the afternoon my bf and I went out shopping (he didn't had the day off) and had cocktails before and after dinner.

Saturday morning we went to the gym to train off the nachos. ;-)

Sunday night my bf made us a healthier version of lasagna with courgette instead of pasta. And we had a great bottle of wine and watched Amelie. I love that movie, especially the soundtrack!

Monday morning it was Second Easter Day and we had a big brunch!

Of course, I also squeezed in some studying. ;-)

Hello April!

It's an April shower kind of a day.

"April Come She Will"
- Simon & Garfunkel
The past few days we had a lot of wind and rain in the Netherlands and so will the coming days. I'm really looking forward to summer and that I'm finally done with my exams. But for now we have April. Hopefully the weather will clear up soon as I have a few nice things to look forward to:

  • Easter! Coming weekend will have four days since we'll have Good Friday and Second Easter Day on Monday off as well. On Friday I'll study, go to the gym and at the end of the day we'll do some clothing shopping. We'll have a big Easter Day brunch and just relax for the rest of the day.
  • My dad's 60th birthday! In two weeks we'll celebrate my dad's birthday by going out for dinner in Den Haag. So nice to see my family again and we'll go to a great restaurant in the woods. Can't wait!
  • On April 27th the Netherlands celebrates the birthday of our king with a lot of partying (were we're good at ;-)). My bf, bff and I got tickets to a super nice festival here in Rotterdam so I'm planning on dancing all day long. Also, I love festival food! Hope it will be just as nice weather as last year. :)
  • In the same week of that Monday, I'll have a full week off to study for my exams. Which will be the first week and a half of May. Eek! Having that said, I hope April will go by slowly...
